Several huge sinkhole opens up from nowhere? And they appear everywhere on earth. And in the middle of last summer came more news of another bizarre occurrence no one could explain. Seemingly out of nowhere, a massive crater appeared in one of the planet’s most inhospitable lands. Early estimates said the crater, nestled in a land called “the ends of the Earth” where temperatures can sink far below zero, yawned nearly 100 feet in diameter. But the Siberian crater saga is more widespread and scarier than anyone thought. Has the crust of the earth become more unstable? All over the planet, these giant sinkholes are forming. Many of them are so massive and are opening up so suddenly that they are actually swallowing cars, people and even homes. So why is this happening? Russia has been hit severely lately by these sinkholes, and the Yamal sinkhole in Siberia wasn’t the beginning.
Because the Russian saga deepens. The Siberian crater has been proven not to be the only one. There were several others, ratcheting up the tension in a drama that hit its climax as a probable explanation surfaced. Global warming had thawed the permafrost, which had caused methane trapped inside the icy ground to explode. “Gas pressure increased until it was high enough to push away the overlaying layers in a powerful injection, forming the crater,” one German scientist said at the time.
Now, however, researchers fear there are even more craters than anyone knew and the repercussions could be huge. Russian scientists have now spotted a total of seven craters, five of which are in the Yamal Peninsula. Two of those holes have since turned into lakes. And one giant crater is rimmed by a ring of at least 20 mini-craters, the Siberian Times reported. Dozens more Siberian craters are likely still out there, said Moscow scientist Vasily Bogoyavlensky of the Oil and Gas Research Institute, calling for an “urgent” investigation.
“These objects need to be studied, but it is rather dangerous for the researchers,” Bogoyavlensky told the Siberian Times. “We know that there can occur a series of gas emissions over an extended period of time, but we do not know exactly when they might happen. It is very risky, because no one can guarantee there would not be new emissions.”
Sinkholes made by missiles and angels?
Naples residents woke up to a massive sinkhole in the morning, which led to hundreds of people being evacuated from the area in the Italian city.
Experts remain baffled about what is causing the earth to disappear, with locals claiming they have seen missiles and even falling angels. One hole appeared in the same permafrost region of northern Russia, while another was discovered on the Taymyr Peninsula, to the east, in Kransoyark region.
Although the new holes are smaller in diameter than the Yamal crater, they continue to baffle scientists. The Siberian Times reported several theories posed.
“Theories range from meteorites, stray missiles, a man-made prank, and aliens, to an explosive cocktail of methane or shale gas suddenly exploding.
“The version about melting permafrost due to climate change, causing a release of methane gas, which then forces an eruption is the current favourite, though scientists are reluctant to offer a firm conclusion without more study.”
Anna Kurchatova from the Sub-Arctic Scientific Research Center told The Siberian Times she believed the initial hole was caused by global warming, suggesting it formed when a mixture of water, salt and gas ignited an underground explosion.
And YET another giant mystery sinkhole has appeared in Siberia close to one of the world’s largest potassium salt mines. The gaping chasm measures a whopping 100ft across and appeared after the nearby Solikamsk-2 mine was flooded. It is not the first time a sinkhole has opened up in the region, similar huge holes have appeared in the Yamal – or ‘end of the world’.
Locals have claimed to have seen missiles and even falling angels near the sinkholes. And people are afraid, some have not slept for three days, waiting for new holes to arrive. Thousands of mine employees have since been told to keep away as geologists urgently look into why it happened.
One theory is that a 20-year-old earthquake weakened the structure of the bedrock surrounding the mine making it unstable. Nobody living in the nearby town of Solikamsk was injured and experts have assured families that their homes are safe. But the unexpected crater has caused mass panic in the town and many residents are reported to be rushing to sell their homes.
One local resident said: “People have not slept for three days, waiting for new holes.”
“The homes were empty when it happened, which was lucky. The nearest houses where people are living are two kilometres away.”
The future of the mine, owned by the world’s number one potash producer, is still unclear. It’s believed to have reserves of around 150 million tons of potash but if the surrounding rock is too unstable the mine could be lost forever. The cause of the sinkhole is said to be different to those that appeared in more northern regions earlier this year. Typically, Siberia.
And another very serious thing is that Huge, dangerous sinkholes mainly is ignored by media? Massive sinkholes are popping up around the planet. Huge craters acres wide and some leaking radiation or some described as apocalyptic have forced residents out of homes and expelled radiation into the environment.
Sinkhole in Northampton UK
No in-depth media reports tying everything together. And they often fail to mention the scale of these sinkholes that can swallow up 100 foot trees, houses, with the latest Ohio sinkhole devouring 4 football fields of land. We can only wonder why? My personal belief is that HAARP which i believe is under testing yet is the answer, but who really knows..
